Templenoe narrowly lost the semi final of the County Junior football shield to Ballymac this evening, played in windy conditions away in Ballymacelligot.

 

Templenoe started  well and had points from Tadhg Morley and Patrick Palmer. Then a long range effort by Sean Sheahan went into the net putting the away team ahead by 1-2 to 0-0.  Ballymacelligot got on the board before Danny Cahalane  and Adrian Spillane points left the Half-time score. Templenoe 1-4 Ballmacelligot 0-3.

In the 2nd half Ballymac came out with all guns glazing and went into the lead by kicking 0-5 in a row. Damien Clifford leveled the game with a point from play. The locals who had the wind in their backs edged in front again. A free by Patrick Palmer kept the visitors in touch before the hosts had scores from a free and play. Templenoes Sean Sheahan fisted the ball over but time ran out.
