Half Time Score: Templenoe 0-8, St Mary’s. 1-4.

St Marys were dealt a major blow at half time, after it emerged that County Panalist Denis Daly could play no further part after he picked up an injury. Despite playing against the strong breeze, the home side would go on to give a much better performance in the second half. As they controlled the game, although they did have some frustrating periods and found it difficult to manufacture scores against the gale force wind. Pat Spillane put Patrick Clifford through for Templenoe’s opening score in the second half, before Daniel Daly and Stephen O’Sullivan traded points. In between, a Killian Spillane effort at goal hit the post, Josh Crowley Holland did finish the rebound to the net, but the referee however had already blown his whistle for a free out. Then on the 18th minute came the goal Templenoe were searching for all through. It came about after Gavin Crowley got into a great position and although his shot was once again well saved by Michael Daly, the rebounded effort was despatched to the net yet again by the vigilant Josh Crowley Holland and this time his effort did stand. This put daylight between the sides with Templenoe now ahead by 1-10 to 1-5. Templenoe consolidated their position with two points from Stephen O’Sullivan coming into the final stretch. St Mary kept fighting to the end and two points from Brian Sheehan did reduce the arrears to five points, but Templenoe had already done enough to secure two valuable county league points.
