This match was contested on a perfect evening for football in Con Keating Park in Cahersiveen, where it proved to be the ultimate game of two halves.

Templenoe/Sneem/Derrynane never got going in the first half, and unfortunately Renard did too much damage in the opening 25 minutes by dominating the kick outs and running directly at the Templenoe/Sneem/Derrynane backs.

Templenoe/Sneem/Derrynane started the second half with way more fight and belief and they started to pick off a few points through some great accuracy from Ruairi Burns. Midway through the half Aidan Crowley scored two quick goals in succession and suddenly it was game on for the last ten minutes. The Templenoe/Sneem/Derrynane backs really upped their display and went on to hold Renard scoreless in the second half but time was running out. In the final few minutes there was three points in the difference. Templenoe/Sneem/Derrynane did work a few final attempts to get a goal but the opportunity never fully came leaving Renard the South Kerry U16 League Champions.
