Final Score, Dingle 0-18, Templenoe 4-06
Templenoe made the long trip to Dingle on a beautiful sunny April evening, and played very well to take a share of the spoils in a very entertaining County Senior Football League match. With the pitch in perfect condition, Dingle chose to play with the strong breeze blowing from the Town end. Liam Brosnan opened the scoring with a free for the home team but Stephen O’Sullivan goaled with Templenoe’s first attack of the match. Dingle responded with two pointed frees before Brian Crowley kicked a point from play. Both teams swapped scores, and two further Dingle points kicked by Aidan O’Connor and Liam Brosnan left the score on the fifteen minute mark, Dingle 0-05, Templenoe 1-02.
Templenoe responded with a brace of scores from Denis O’Neill and Stephen O’Sullivan, but the remaining scores of the half went the way of the home team, leaving the half time score Dingle 0-09, Templenoe 1-04.
The second half saw Dingle enjoy periods of control and possession of the ball, but Templenoe were able to break quickly with the wind to get their scores. Dingle accounted for the first two points after the interval from Thomas Sheehy and Gareth Brosnan before Brian Crowley went on a great solo run and ended up with Templenoe’s second goal of the match. Mikey Boland (2 frees) and Stephen O’Sullivan kicked points, and on the 43rd minute Josh Crowley-Holland scored Templenoe’s third goal. Dingle responded with a 45 meter kick from their goalkeeper Gavin Curran leaving the score on the 45th minute Dingle 0-14, Templenoe 3-05.

The last 15 minutes proved to be very exciting with Templenoe battling for everything as the came closer to the final whistle. Another Mikey Boland point was answered by Brian Crowley’s second goal from a penalty when Teddy Doyle was fouled in the square, giving Templenoe a lead of two points coming into the last 10 minutes. Both team’s again swapped scores but Dingle were starting to win a huge amount of possession and piled on the pressure. Liam Brosnan pointed two late frees in injury time to tie up matters, but there was still enough injury time for Templenoe to mount one final attack which resulted in a free awarded about thirty metres from the goal. Unfortunately Stephen O’Sullivan pulled this free just left and wide and the ref blew up leaving the teams level on a score of Dingle 0-18, Templenoe 4-06.
