Valentia and Templenoe played out a hard fought, but entertaining draw in Valentia last Saturday evening. Valentia got off to a dream start with a goal inside the first minute. They increased their lead by adding two points, after which Patrick Palmer replied with a point for Templenoe. Both team exchanged scores, before points from Brian Crowley, Kieran McCarthy and two frees by Patrick Palmer left only one point in the game, 1-4 to 0-6. Valentia then got a pointed free just ahead of the half time whistle to leave the score Valentia 1-5 Templenoe 0-6 at the interval.

Templenoe leveled the game early in the second half with points from Patrick Palmer and Shane Cremin to make it 1-5 to 0-8. Valentia went back in front with a free, before Patrick Palmer evened matters again. Valentia got the next two scores, before two great points by Shane Cremin and Brian Crowley tied the game at 1-8 to 0-11. Valentia then hit a purple patch with two frees and a point from play to put them a goal in front. However, Templenoe battled on with Teddy Doyle converting a difficult free, which was followed by another pointed free from Patrick Palmer to leave only a point in the match. Then deep into injury time, Templenoe were awarded a free which was calmly slotted over the bar by Patrick Palmer to leave the final score Templenoe 0-14, Valentia 1-11.
