This was a highly entertaining game played in Templenoe before a large crowd Wednesday evening.
Austin Stacks opened the scoring. Kenmare replied with Mike Tim O Sullivan (0-02), Martin Reilly and Kieran O Sullivan all on target. Stacks got a goal to level the match. Then Kenmare full back Aaron O Callaghan went up the field to get on the scoreboard. Then came the move of the game involving Sean Sheehan, Mike Tim O Sullivan and Alan O Leary, which saw O Leary goal for Kenmare. Danny Cahalane had a long range point before stacks scored 3 to leave the half time score Kenmare 1-06 to Stack 104.
Austin Stacks drew level early in the second half but Mike Tim O Sullivan restored Kenmares lead with two points. Once more stacks got back on even term 1-08 to 1-08 before Mike Tim O Sullivan kicked over two fine points with another one followed by Brian Crowley. Austin Stacks and Michael Randles exchanged scores. Then stacks got the margin down to a point but Mike Tim O Sullivan had the final point from play. Final score Kenmare 1-13 and Austin Stacks 1-11.
