Templenoe B's qualified for the semi finals of Div 6 of the County JFL with a good away victory in Cromane last night. Final score was Cromane B 1-11, Templenoe B 2-12.
Temple got off to a blistering start and leading by 2-08 to 0-04 with about twenty minutes gone in the match. The goals were scored by Timmy O'Sullivan and a beautiful effort from Ogie Sheehy, where he found himself in a one on one situation with the Cromane goalie and chipped the ball over and into the back of the net. Timmy Clifford landed some very important frees, and the other scores coming from Denis O'Neil, Ogie, Timmy O'Sullivan and Martin Reilly. Alot of the first half performance was coming from good play in midfield from Martin Reilly and some great catches from the Block, Donal O'Sullivan.
For the last ten minutes, Cromane started coming into match. They got the last two scores of the half, including a well worked goal, to leave 6 points of a difference going into half time. Score Templenoe 2-08, Cromane 1-05.
Templenoe were playing into the wind in the second half, but again started well scoring the first point of the half. Cromane then started to really take over midfield and started to reduce the deficit with some good scoring. Their half forward in particular scored a great point from a sidline ball about 30 metres out from the goal. There was two points in the difference with ten minutes to go.Templenoe were reduced to quick breaks up the field, but towards the end of the match got scores through a wonderfull Martin Reilly point against the wind and Timmy Clifford to leave a final score of Templenoe 2-12, Cromane 1-11.
