Templenoe held out for a good win over Kilgarvan in good conditions in the Purcell Cup Semi-final played in Templenoe on last Saturday.Kilgarvan started brightly with 1-1 by Flor O' Donoughue. Denis O' Neill opened Templenoe account with 0-2. Both teams exchanged points before Kevin O' Connor kept the visitors in front. The hosts dominated the remainder of half with Daniel O' Neill, Timmy Clifford, Brian Crowley and Martin Reilly all on target, to leave the score at the break Templenoe 0-10 Kilgarvan 1-3.
Noel O'Sullivan and Timmy Clifford added 0-2 for Templenoe early in the 2nd half before Flor O' Donoughue put over 0-1 for KIlgarvan. Then the home side got 2 more points by Padraig O'Sullivan and Martin Reilly, the away team replied through Con Godfrey and Flor O'Donoughue. Timmy Clifford and Padraig O'Sullivan got the next 0-2 points. Kilgarvan rallied with a goal by Sean Gleeson and 0-1 from Paul Gleeson. However Templenoe won a free which was converted by Tom O Sullivan to leave the final score Templenoe 0-18, Kilgarvan 2-7.
