Glenbeigh / Glencar B 1-09, Templenoe 1-04.
Templenoe lost their opening match in div 4 of the county Junior League last friday. the match was played on lovely evening in glenbeigh with a strong breeze running in from the sea.
Templenoe led early on with Mike Jones opening the scoring with a point, which was quickly followed up by a Martin Reilly goal. It took glenbeigh, who were playing with the breeze, a good while to get going and they opened their account with a free on the 20th minute. they continued the scoring to finish the half in the lead, Glenbeigh / Glencar 0-05, Templenoe 1-01.
Martin Reilly scored the opening point of the 2nd half to level, but Glenbeigh ran the ball the lenght of the field to score a goal. This proved to be the most important score of the match. They followed up with two points, before John Moriarity and Timmy Clifford responded for Templenoe. With ten minutes left Templenoe tried to reduce the arrears, but Glenbeigh scored the last two points, to leave the score, Glenbeigh / Glencar 1-09, Templenoe 1-04.
