Full Time Result: Templenoe 1-14, Kenmare 0-04
Templenoe proved to good for Kenmare in the Kenmare District Board Spillane Cup Final, played in damp conditions at Templenoe on Saturday evening.
Kenmare got the scoring underway with a free but Templenoe responded with points form Kieran McCarthy, John Rice, Padraig Doyle and Patrick Palmer. Kenmare followed with another free but Templenoe again responded with scores from John Rice and Denis O Neill to leave the half time score Templenoe 0-06, Kenmare 0-02
The first score of the second half went to Kenmare as Templenoe struggled to hit the target early in the second half. Patrick Palmer converted a long distant free and Templenoe followed with points from Daniel O Neill, Denis O Neill and John Rice. Both teams swapped scores and coming into the last five minutes John Rice struck a superb goal. Templenoe closed out the game with three more points to leave the final score Templenoe 1-14, Kenmare 0-04.
Kenmare District Board Chairman PJ McIntyre presented the Spillane Cup to Templenoe Captain Shane Cremin and the man of the match award was presented to Templenoe wing back Joseph Sheehan.
