Templenoe B and Waterville B met for the 2nd time in a week in the 1st Round of the Barrett Cup.
Waterville gained revenge with a two point victory in an exciting game after extra time.
Templenoe had the better first half, with Timmy O’Sullivan getting a great goal and Martin Reilly and Daniel O’Neill points, putting Templenoe 1-5 to 0-6 ahead at the interval.
A Noel O’Sullivan point put a goal between the sides, before the visitors struck for an equalising goal. After that it was score for score, with points from Martin Reilly, Denis O’Neill and Daniel O’Neill, who levelled the match The score at the end of normal time was Templenoe 1-11, Waterville 1-11 sending the game into extra time.
Waterville had the better of the exchanges in extra time and went into the break 1-14 to 1-11 ahead. They further increased their lead to a tiring Templenoe side by five points halfway through the 2nd period of extra time. with a minute to go, Daniel O'Neill worked a good goal leaving two points of a difference, but Templenoe ran out of time, leaving a final score after extra time of Templenoe 2-14, Waterville 2-16.
