Beaufort 0-05, Templenoe 0-12

Templenoe gained two more valuable points in the County League with a good win away to Beaufort. The match was played in excellent conditions. Templenoe opened the scoring through points from Denis O Neill and Brian Crowley. Beaufort who employed a short kick out strategy worked the ball up the field to reduce the arrears to a point. Templenoe followed with a brace of points from Teddy Doyle and Cian Hallissey. Again Beaufort pointed from play but Templenoe followed up with two more points from Brain Crowley. This pattern continued with a point from Beaufort being responded to by two scores from Danny Cahalane and Cian Hallissey. Beaufort pointed the last score of the half, leaving the score Beaufort 0-03, Templenoe 0-08.

Beaufort registered the first point of the second half but Templenoe responded strongly with points from Cian Hallissey (2) and Teddy Doyle. Templenoe enjoyed most of the possession in this half but squandered a lot of scoring opportunities. In the last ten minutes both teams exchanged scores leaving Templenoe victories on a score line of Beaufort 0-05, Templenoe 0-12

Templenoe gained two valuable league points after a high scoring encounter against Cordal played in ideal conditions in Templenoe last Saturday evening. John Spillane opened Templenoe’s account with a point after a good team move but Cordal replied and went up by 0-03 to 0-01 with points from John Brosnan, Philip O Connor and Johnny O Connor. Templenoe started to come into the game and scored the next 6 points without reply to leave the score twenty minutes in, Templenoe 0-07, Cordal 0-03. For the next five minutes of the half, Cordal had a good spell and put over 4 points without reply. Templenoe again replied with three points from Adrian Spillane, Denis O Neill & Teddy Doyle to leave the half time score, Templenoe 0-11, Cordal 0-09.

The opening two scores of the second half came Cordal’s way, but Templenoe started to assert control over proceedings and reeled off points through a variety of scorers. Templenoe continued to build on their lead and ran into the last five minutes a comfortable eight points ahead of the visitors. Cordal finished off the scoring for the evening with a point from Phillip O’Connor, to leave the final score, Templenoe 0-19, Cordal 0-12.
