All Ireland Junior Final 2015
Congratulations and well done to the Kerry Juniors who won the All Ireland Junior Final in Croke Park last saturday in Croke Park.
They beat Mayo on a scoreline of Kerry 2-18, Mayo 0-10.
It was a very proud day for Templenoe GAA Club who supplied four players to the winning team, all who started in the final.
Well done to Brian Crowley, Gavin Crowley, Tadhg Morley and Killian Spillane on bringing home All Ireland medals to Templenoe.
All-Ireland Junior Football Championship Final: Kerry 2-18 Mayo 0-10
By Paul Keane at Croke Park
Thomas Hickey made up for last year's All-Ireland junior final heartache with a brilliant 2-4 as Kerry cruised to their 16th title success at the grade.
The Castle Island attacker was captain of the Kerry side that lost last year's final to Cavan but returned to inspire an impressive Croke Park success.
Stephen Wallace's side included several All-Ireland minor medallists from last year as well as ex-senior county talents like David Culhane and Conor Cox.
They were far too slick and creative for Mayo who slipped to yet another agonising defeat for the county in an All-Ireland decider.
But for an Andrew Farrell-inspired recovery from Mayo approaching half-time this game could have been wrapped up at an even earlier stage.
The Kingdom led by 1-9 to 0-2 with 28 minutes on the clock and appeared all set for a comfortable win.
They oozed class and capitalised on the fact that Mayo have had just one game since winning the Connacht championship back in May, an All-Ireland semi-final win over Kilkenny.
The Kingdom had big wins in Munster over Tipperary and Cork and had seven points to spare on Wexford in the All-Ireland semi-finals.
They found huge amounts of time and space in the right channel of Mayo's defence and remarkably fisted over four points from raids in that area.
Hickey scored two of those fisted points before shooting a brilliant 28th minute goal.
Alan O'Donoghue did the spadework with a clever pass from the right of the goals and Hickey applied a rocketed finish to the roof of the net.
It was a double blow for Mayo as sub Seán Gaughan was black carded for a heavy challenge on O'Donoghue shortly after releasing his pass.
Mayo were in real trouble but closed the half strongly with four unanswered points including three from Farrell, one from a free that he won himself.
Still, Kerry were in a strong position at the break with a 1-9 to 0-6 lead and tacked on two points early in the second-half.
Mayo had two great goal chances in this period but Darren McHugh's point blank shot was well saved and Farrell was just wide of the upright.
Hickey punished them with his second goal to all but seal Kerry's victory in the 38th minute. It was a cracker too as he deftly lobbed the ball over Mayo's advancing goalkeeper Blake Forkan with a left footed chip to put his side 2-11 to 0-6 ahead.
James Walsh, Jeff O'Donoghue, goalkeeper Shane Murphy and Tadhg Morley added late points as Kerry eased to success.

Div2 County SFL, Rathmore V Templenoe
Rathmore 0-09, Templenoe 1-07
Templenoe just held on to record a good away victory to Rathmore. The match was played on a very slippy pitch, in a light drizzle and a light crosswind which did not aid either team.
Templenoe’s opening score proved to be very decisive in the overall context of this match. Good work from Sean Sheehan on the left wing, saw him bear down on the Rathmore goal. Sean flicked a pass across the goalmouth, and the ball was palmed to the net by Killian Spillane. Both teams struggled to settle down, and it was the 10th minute before the next score was kicked by Rathmore full forward, Michael O’Riordan. Soon after, Cian Hallissey responded with a point from play, which was quickly answered by Rathmore. Following this Shane Cremin patiently took on the ball to kick a very good point from play. The scoreline after 20 minutes was Rathmore 0-02, Templenoe 1-02.
Rathmore’s attacks were not working out in the 1st half, and a lot of long passes were running over the endline or being picked up by the Templenoe backs. On the other side Templenoe were working shooting opportunities, but kicked a lot of wides. The final score of the opening half came the way of the home team when Michael O’Riordan scored a good point from play, leaving Rathmore trailing at the interval on a scoreline of, Rathmore 0-03, Templenoe 1-02.
Rathmore got a quick point to start the 2nd half when wing forward George O’Keeffe found himself in space. Templenoe’s following attack resulted in a wasted goal opportunity, but soon afterwards, Teddy Doyle pointed from a free. George O’Keeffe again pointed, but Teddy Doyle worked a quick free on the 50 meter line, took the return and pointed on the run. Michael O’Riordan again pointed a free, to leave the scored on the 40th minute, Rathmore 0-06, Templenoe 1-04.
On the 47th minute, Rathmore pulled level with another Michael O’Riordan free. With proceedings becoming tense, some good work from Sean Sheehan saw the ball worked to Teddy Doyle who pointed from play. Templenoe extended their lead on the 52nd minute with a good Pat Spillane point. In the last 5 minutes, Rathmore wing back Tadhg Moynihan reduced the deficit with a point from play, and this was followed up by a Michael O’Riordan free. Both teams pressed on for the winning score until a very patient Templenoe attack worked the ball to the free Joey Sheehan who kicked the winning point well into injury time.
Rathmore had time from one last attack, and with the home team in possession around midfield, the referee saw a foul deep in the Templenoe half of the field. With the last kick of the match, Michael O’Riordan missed the free from 30 metres, to leave Templenoe victorious on a scoreline of Rathmore 0-09, Templenoe 1-07.
