Kellogg's Cúl Camp 2015

The Kellogg's Cúl Camp is being held in the Templenoe GAA Grounds all this week. Despite the poor weather at times, there is a fantastic crowd of 95 kids attending, and they are all having a great time.

Div 2 County SFL, Templenoe V Listowel Emmetts

Templenoe 4-17, Listowel Emmett’s 0-07

Templenoe recorded a comfortable home win over Listowel Emmett’s in Round 7 of the County Senior Football League on Saturday evening. The match was played in poor weather conditions, on a wet evening with a blustery wind helping Listowel in the first half.

Killian Spillane got the home sides first score with a lovely point from the outside of his right foot. This was quickly followed up when Josh Holland pounced on a Listowel defensive mistake for another point. On the 5th minute, the home side recieved their first goal when Brian Crowley was put through, who finished to the net.

Templenoe continued their good play and a great long ball found Brian Crowley isolated near the square. The visitor’s goalie, Keith Hughes pulled Brian back, resulting in a penalty and a black card. The penalty was well saved for a 45’ by the Listowel stand in goalie.

Templenoe added another point through Teddy Doyle, and on the 10^th minute, John Rice notched Templenoe’s second goal. Listowel were in a lot of trouble at this stage and continued attacks were to yield further scores through a Killian Spillane point and a brace of identical goals from Teddy Doyle. Both of the Teddy Doyle goals came from Templenoe point attempts that dropped short around the square, which were punched to the net by Teddy. On the 15^th minute, the scoreline was Templenoe 4-04, Listowel 0-01. Conor Cox scoring Listowel’s point from a free.

The match settled down for the rest of the half and Templenoe added a further 2 points from Brian Crowley and Teddy Doyle. Conor Cox responded with 3 points for the visitors. The score at the interval, was Templenoe 4-06, Listowel 0-04.

The expected response from Listowel did not really materialize at the start of the second half, and all intensity from the match was absent in the first 10 minutes. Templenoe scoring 2 points to the visitors single point in this period. Templenoe started to introduce subs, and continued to add on points including scores from Kieran O’Neill, Pat Spillane (2) and John Moriarity (2). Teddy Doyle also continued his fine performance with some great individual points.

Templenoe picked up the 2 league points on offer, on a final scoreline of Templenoe 4-17, Listowel Emmett’s 0-07.

Div2 County SFL, Kenmare V Templenoe

Kenmare 1-14, Templenoe 1-08

A huge crowd came out to witness Templenoe play Kenmare for the Round 6 of the County Senior Football League. The match was played on a very pleasant Saturday evening, but there was a very difficult breeze blowing across the pitch that only barely helped the team playing into the town end.

Templenoe had a very bright start, and their first point yielded a point from a free by Killian Spillane. Kenmare soon responded with a point from Patrick O’Shea, but the early exchanges saw both teams guilty of wasteful play.

It took until the 12^th minute for the next score with Killian Spillane scoring from play. Kenmare responded with a Paul O’Connor point from a free. Both teams again swapped scores, with Cian Hallissey and Paul O’Connor responding again with a free. This was to be Templenoe’s last score of the half , and with Kenmare looking very dangerous in attack, they kicked a series of points in the last ten minutes of the half to retire at the interval with a lead of Kenmare 0-10, Templenoe 0-03.

Paul O’Connor was the chief scorer of the half with 0-8 points. Patrick O’Shea scoring the other two including a great point from way out on the right wing.

Templenoe came out in the 2^nd half determined to do better, but the home side extended their lead with two more points before Cian Hallissey kicked Templenoe’s first point. Templenoe continued to press, but took some poor shots. They worked themselves a lifeline on the 44^th minute when Adrian Spillane goaled.

Templenoe scored the following point from a Cian Hallissey free, but a great run from Kenmare Midfielder David Hallissey, saw his shot on goal rebound out to Sean O’Leary who finished to the net. This left the scoreline with 10 minutes to play, Kenmare 1-12, Templenoe 1-05.

The last ten minutes saw Templenoe try to pull back into the game. The scored three points in this period, but the final whistle saw the home side deserving winners on a score of Kenmare 1-14, Templenoe 1-08.
