FT Score: Templenoe 1-10, Waterville 3-10

The Templenoe U12's made the journey out west to Garnish to take part in an U12 blitz today. There was three teams taking part, which included home team Garnish and Castletownbere. Templenoe played very well in both matches and ended up winning the competition. The Bernie O'Neill Memorial Trophy was presented to team captain Ellen O'Sullivan.
A big thanks must go to Garnish GAA Club for the invitation and to Timmy Casey and Martin Crowley for organizing everything for Templenoe.

Templenoe 1-10 Glenbeigh/Glencar 1-12.


Glenbeigh held for a narrow win over Templenoe in round 10 of the Credit Union County league played in Templenoe last Saturday evening.
Templenoe took an early lead with Killian Spillane (free) and Cian Hallissey splitting the posts for the home side.
Glenbeigh's Darren O'Sullivan had a shot well saved from Anthony Sheehan and the resultant 45 was converted by Gavin O'Grady.
Denis o' Neill and Gavin O'Grady swapped scores, before KIllian Spillane put 2 between the sides with a point from play However, Glenbeigh replied with Gavin O'Grady and Colm MacGillycuddy both on target to level the contest. Killian Spillane and Gavin O'Grady exchanged frees, before Shane Cremin slotted over a point for Templenoe, to leave the half time score Templenoe 0-6, Glenbeigh 0-5.


The visitors started the 2nd half brightly. A long range point from Darren O'Sullivan was followed up with scores from Fergal Griffin, Gavin O'Grady and Steven O'Sullivan. Killian Spillane hit back with a pointed free for Templenoe.
Glenbeigh’s full forward landed another 45 over the bar and then the same player despatched the ball to the back of the net after a good move to leave the score Templenoe 0-7 Glenbeigh 1-11.
Gavin O'Grady proceeded to increase Glenbeigh's lead with a free .However, Templenoe battled on and 2 converted frees by Killian Spillane were followed up with an expertly taken penalty from Brian Crowley after Cian Hallissey was fouled.
Adrian Spillane now playing full forward had the ball in the net for Templenoe, but the goal did not stand as the referee had already blown for a free. Killian Spillane pointed the resultant free as Templenoe desperately tried to salvage something from the game, but Glenbeigh held on for a narrow victory.

Templenoe 3-15, Lispole 1-09.

Templenoe advanced to the final of the County Novice Football Championship with a comfortable victory over Division 4 league leaders, Lispole. The match was played in very blustery conditions in Farranfore on a dry Sunday afternoon.

Templenoe played against the wind in the first half, and had the dream start when strong running from Brian Crowley, opened up the Lispole defence to set Denis O’Neill for a goal. Lispole responded with a point, but Templenoe again struck for a second goal from Killian Spillane within a few minutes. Lispole kept in touch with a few scores leaving the score on the 20th minute mark, Templenoe 2-03, Lispole 0-05.

A long ball from Lispole dropped in behind the Templenoe defence, and was picked up by Lispole corner forward, Declan O’Sullivan. He was left one on one with the Templenoe Goalie, Anthony Sheehan, and coolly finished the ball to the net. Both teams tacked on a few points to leave the half time score, Templenoe 2-06, Lispole 1-07.

Templenoe began the 2nd half in a very assured fashion and kicked over four points in the opening ten minutes. Teddy Doyle was pulled down in the square and Brian Crowley dispatched the resulting penalty to extend Templenoe’s lead. Lispole responded with a point and were awarded a penalty of their own, which was well saved by Anthony Sheehan.

The score on the 50th minute mark was Templenoe 3-12, Lispole 1-08. Templenoe continued to add on a few scores, while Lispole pushed for a goal with little success, leaving the full time score, Templenoe 3-15, Lispole 1-09

Templenoe had an impressive win over Dingle in a match played in Listry. Dingle got a great start when they converted a penalty in the opening minute of the match. Templnoe who were playing with the wind responded with points from Teddy Doyle, Killian Spillane and Cian Hallissey before dingle struck for their second goal. Templnoe continued their point scoring and on their 25th minute Brian Crowley drilled a penalty to the net. Half time score Templnoe 1-12, Dingle 2-01

A goal early in the second half from John Rice put the game out of Dingle’s reach. Templnoe finished off the game with two more goals from Denis O Neill and Cian Hallissey to leave the final score Templnoe 4-16, Dingle 2-07
