The Templenoe B's suffered a loss away to Waterville B in the opening round of the County Junior Football League.

The Kenmare and Templenoe Juniors played out an entertaining draw in a high scoring encounter last friday evening.

Keel 0-14, Templenoe 1-13
Templenoe held on for a great victory over home side Keel on a sun drenched sunday afternoon.
Keel had the better of the opening exchanges, and led on a scoreline of 0-04 to 0-01 after 10 minutes. Pat Spillane pointed for Templenoe to half the margin, but Keel responded again with a point. A further Templenoe point from Brian Crowley, saw Keel respond with a brace of scores to extend their lead on 20 minutes to Keel 0-07, Templenoe 0-03.
Templenoe started to come strongly into the match, and picked off the next 3 scores form Pat Spillane, Stephen O'Sullivan and Teddy Doyle. Templenoe continued to pressurise, and eventually a move saw Brian Crowley through on goal who finished the ball to the net.
The visitors were 2 points ahead at this point, and the very next attack saw another Templenoe attempt on goal which was well saved by the Keel goalie. Keel scored one more point before half time, but Templenoe added another 2 points to leave the half time score, Keel 0-08, Templenoe 1-08.
Keel opened the scoring in the 2nd half, but Martin Reilly responded for Templenoe when the burst through and kicked a good point on the run. Both teams exchanged scores, before a Brian Crowley free left the score Keel 0-10, Templenoe 1-11 on the 45th minute mark.
A great save from Anthony Sheehan kept Keel goalless, but they followed up with a point. John Rice kicked a wonder score from the sideline, which was again cancelled out by Keel.
With 10 minutes to go, Templenoe full back Shane Cremin was sent off for a 2nd yellow card. Templenoe started to fall back into defensive mode and broke up the field quickly when in posession of the ball. Keel managed 2 more points in this period, but as time was running out, they couldnt work a goal, leaving Templenoe winners on a scoreline of Keel 0-14, Templenoe 1-13
